A placement cell that knows which employer wants which programme

Most placement cells are not short of effort; they are short of a calendar, a mapped employer list and clean data. A cell that starts calling recruiters in September has already lost the good slots to institutions that called in June.

In short

What is placement support?

Placement support is the work of building a training and placement cell that can reliably attract recruiters, run drives and report outcomes. BridgePoint audits the existing cell, maps employers to each programme, builds a dated drive calendar 4–6 months before the placement season, and sets up offer tracking that feeds NAAC, NBA and NIRF submissions. A first engagement typically runs two semesters, with the employer map and calendar delivered inside the first eight weeks.

What's included

What you actually get

Every item below is part of the standard engagement, not an upsell.

01

Placement cell audit

A written review of how the cell currently works: staffing, employer records, student data, past drive outcomes and where the process breaks. Delivered in the first three weeks.
02

Employer mapping by programme

Each programme and specialisation is matched to the employers that actually hire from it, with named contacts. A generic recruiter list produces generic results.
03

Drive calendar

A dated season calendar built backwards from your academic schedule, so outreach starts 4–6 months before drives and clashes with exams are resolved on paper first.
04

Student readiness data

Programme-wise CGPA bands, backlog status, aptitude scores and language readiness, so you know which cohort is actually eligible for which recruiter before you invite them.
05

Offer and outcome tracking

One register for every offer: recruiter, role, CTC, accept or decline, joining status. This is the record that accreditation bodies ask for.
06

Accreditation-ready reporting

Placement percentages, median and highest package, higher-studies and entrepreneurship counts, compiled in the formats NAAC, NBA and NIRF expect.

Scope

How engagements are shaped

1 campus

Single institution

One college or institute, typically 300–1,200 final-year students across a handful of programmes.

3–10 constituent units

Multi-campus university

A university with constituent or affiliated colleges needing one calendar and comparable data.

Programme-led

Autonomous college

Autonomous colleges with programme-level freedom, where curriculum and placement can actually be aligned.

Shared cell

Group of institutions

A trust or group running several institutes that benefit from a central employer desk and shared recruiter relationships.

Deliverables

  • Written placement cell audit with prioritised gaps
  • Programme-wise employer map with named recruiter contacts
  • Dated drive calendar for the full placement season
  • Offer and outcome register with defined data fields
  • NAAC, NBA and NIRF placement reporting formats, populated
  • Quarterly review against agreed placement targets

Scope and deliverables are confirmed in writing before work begins. If something here does not apply to your situation, we take it out rather than bill for it.

Process

How the work runs

01

Understand

A working session on what you actually need — the role, the mandate or the outcome. We put the brief in writing and you sign it off before work starts.

02

Plan

A scoped plan with owners, timelines and the numbers we will report against. If the brief is unrealistic on budget, market or timeline, we say so here.

03

Execute

Delivery against the plan, with a weekly written update whether or not there is good news. Silence is not a status report.

04

Review

Results measured against what we agreed at the start, with an honest read on what worked, what did not, and what we would change next cycle.

FAQ

Placement Support — questions

When should we start preparing for the placement season?

Four to six months before your first drive. Recruiter hiring plans for campus are usually locked a quarter ahead, and the institutions that get the better slots are the ones that made contact before the plan closed. Starting in the same month as your drives means taking whatever dates are left.

Will you replace our existing T&P cell?

No. The cell keeps ownership; we build the process, the employer map and the data discipline around it, and train the team to run it. If the cell is understaffed we say so in the audit rather than quietly absorbing the work.

How does this help with NAAC, NBA and NIRF?

All three ask for placement data in specific formats, and most institutions reconstruct it from emails and spreadsheets weeks before submission. We set up a single offer register during the season so the accreditation numbers are a report rather than a research project.

We are a tier-3 college and recruiters do not visit us. Can this work?

Yes, but the honest route is different. For tier-3 institutions the first two seasons usually run on pooled drives, off-campus referrals and mid-sized regional employers rather than large brand recruiters. We build that pipeline first and revisit the large-recruiter ambition once the placement percentage is defensible.

What placement percentage should we expect?

We do not quote a number before the audit, because the honest answer depends on programme mix, student eligibility and location. What we do commit to is a baseline measured in the first month and a target agreed against it, reviewed quarterly.
